If you have used the Berkey PF-2 Elements and need to store them, place the filters into a seal-able container, such as a sandwich bag. They can then be placed on the door of your refrigerator or towards the front. It is important to put them in an area they will not freeze. The filters can be stored in this manner for 2 weeks. When you are ready to use the elements again, we recommend re-priming the Berkey PF-2 post filter elements for 1 minute each, in both directions, before using them again. NOTE: The Berkey PF-2 elements should never be allowed to air dry. This could allow some bacteria growth in the media to occur. Replacements would be necessary.
