I have a water softener, but I still have odor in my water. Why is that?

Water softeners do not generally remove odors from the water. Odors can be cause by chlorine, sulfur or other compounds that generally require additional treatment such as a carbon filter or a Iron / sulfur filter system is you are on your own well.
