ISSUE: WHEN FLOW RATE IS NOT REGISTERING/CAPACITY IS NOT COUNTING DOWN (FOR SOFTPRO UNITS)
If your Softpro Water Softener is not registering flow/ the Gallons are not changing please follow the steps below
Step 1: Check the meter cable with the magnet test:
- grab a fridge magnet preferably or one with a wide surface area
- Guide your fingers down the gray meter cable to where it plugs in behind the bypass. If you put a finger under where it plugs in you will feel the tip of the cable
- Simply push on it and pull up on the cable and it will pop right out, than take the magnet and run it over the tip of the cable multiple times and watch the screen see if it registers anything.
- Plug system back in run water
see if it works now Then set regeneration for tonight
If the above steps did not fix the issue please follow the next set of steps below
***HOW TO TAKE/CHECK THE IMPELLER***
shut the bypass handles off
force a manual regeneration and advance it to either the backwash or rinse and let the cycle run 1-2 minutes
you can then advance past the rest of the regen cycles till it says returning to service. Do this simply by holding any key for 3 seconds
you can then remove the two red clips holding the bypass into the back of the control valve and pull the bypass away
you can then look in the outlet side of the back of the valve and you'll see the impeller in there, make sure it spins freely.
Last resort:
Replace the circuit board.
