Softpro Water Softener not drawing brine or using up salt

Issue: The salt level is not going down since it was installed

If your Softpro water softener is not using salt please check some of the below steps:

Step 1:  Manually force regeneration and see if the unit is drawing water from the tank.

  •  Start a manual regeneration by unlocking the control valve (hold the menu button until it beeps) and then holding the set button, select regen now to initiate regeneration.
  • Let the Brine draw cycle run for 10 minutes ( should be the first cycle the system goes into once you start a regeneration) and look in the salt tank, the water level should be lower than what it was.
  • You can hold any key for 3 seconds to advance to the next cycle until it says return to service.
  • If it's hard to tell that the water level has gone down, you can disconnect the salt line from the salt tank and while the brine draw cycle is still running, stick it in a glass of water and see if it's sucking the water out from the cup.

If it does not draw from a glass or the salt tank then you are going to check the following:

Some corrections are below:
  • Before checking the injector, you will need to release the pressure off the unit first, There are two ways you can do this.
  • Shut the water off to the home and run a few sinks till the pressure is gone and then bypass the water softener.
  • You can then turn the water back on into the home.
You can also Bypass the softener and do the following to release the pressure:
  • To start a manual regeneration hold the menu key till it beeps, then hit menu once so date and time highlights scroll down so manual regeneration is highlighted, and hit set.
  • Select regen now and hit set, you can hold any key for 3 seconds to advance to the next cycle ( once a step starts counting down) and can do this till it is either in Backwash or the Rinse cycle either one is fine. Let it run for 60 seconds.
  • Skip the remaining steps until it says returning to service.

Also, make sure you take a needle or something similar and stick it down in the injector after you remove it to make sure nothing is clogging it.
